Brian Knox McGugan

Brian Knox McGugan (actor, director, vocal performer and theatre artist) was born in Calgary Alberta, graduated from the University of Alberta BFA acting program & frequently appears in film & television. His favorites include: Anne Wheeler's Cowboys Don't Cry, MacGyver, Highlander, The X Files, Bordertown & The Death of the Hulk, and of course Kristian Messere’s feature Stockholders.

Brian has worked extensively behind the camera in several departments and has learned the filmmaking process in hands on sweaty detail, including a gig for many months with John Frankenheimer on Reindeer Games, starring Ben Affleck. Brian then traveled to Alberta for a summer to video co-ordinate Texas Rangers 2nd unit starring Dylan McDermott, James Van Der Beek and Usher. In Toronto Brian was video coordinator on many large projects over 2 years, including Angel Eyes with Jennifer Lopez, Exit Wounds with Stephen Segal and the Backstreet Boys’ colossal Burger King commercial. Back in Vancouver he worked behind the scenes on hundreds of commercials, TV and Features over the years.
Brian Knox McGugan played “Jeff” in "Motifs & Repetitions" a short play featured at UBC's Brave New Playwrights festival, & was so intrigued by this haunting & poetic work of theatre that he then produced, directed & starred in the film adaptation, which was subsequently licensed to Bravo Channel & Knowledge Network.
Brian also co-starred as “SS Brigadefürer Reiner” with Curtis Caravaggio in the WW2 short, "Ghosts of Europe" (winner ~ best international film, 168 festival L.A. 2012). He won outstanding performer award for his role in the short independent film "Sunday Morning", which screened at the Rio theatre and will screen again at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. Brian also plays “Salavan” the dark chemist in Nikki Wallin's apocalyptic fantasy pilot: "The Children of Pellah" directed by Matteo Saradini. Brian Knox McGugan is deeply honoured to have played “The Boss” in  Stockholders, and is extremely proud of this ensemble of great motion picture artists and is eagerly looking forward to taking this amazing energy to the next level!
